Situated on the Ground floor of C-Block, the auditorium, equipped with the most modern and state-of-the-art audio-visual facilities and has a massive seating capacity of approximately 850. The sound-proof auditorium hosts numerous events, including graduation ceremonies, annual day and award functions, inter-school and intra-school competitions, plays and dances, to name just a few.
The swimming pool marks a unique place in the school campus. Every student at DPS – MIS can feel proud to be part of this institution and avail the best facility provided with the size similar to any of the swimming pool that can almost match the standard of Olympic size.The six lane indoor fully-heated swimming pool facility has adequate changing and locker room provision for 20 boys and 20 girls at a time.
The superbly well stocked library houses a vast collection of books, digital sources, resources and services on a wide range of topics. The endeavour is on inculcating the reading habits in children, giving a free rein to their imagination and minds in comfortable and conducive ambience. The advance digital Library and an e-library Section is the response to need of the times expanding the horizons of all learning beyond limits.
The debaters of DPS-Modern Indian School were given the opportunity and took up the challenge from Notebook to debate against Bal Bharati Public School, New Delhi, India on the 7th of Aug 2020. The motion that stood was This House Believes online anonymity should be banned.
The debaters of DPS-MIS, Victoria Apolonio Honoridez and Atharv Sanjay Kumar Bhatt, stood on different sides of the debate conveying convincing cases along with the debaters of Bal Bharati Public School. Both teams showed immense effort and presented convincing cases to the jury.
After the debate, an audience poll of 69% of votes had declared Victoria Apolonio Honoridez the best speaker of the debate and pushed DPS-MIS victorious. The debaters persuaded the audience and panel with arguments addressing the risks and benefits of online anonymity, human and fundamental rights, and the principles of democracy.
The debaters were given enriching feedback and tips from Achin Bhattacharyya, the Founder and CEO of Notebook, Pushan Sharma, an Associate Director in CRISIL, and Jaya Majumder, a renowned Debate Coach and Adjudicator. The debate augmented the debaters' ability to grasp of important and relevant issues and enhance their ways of interpreting a debate and provided them with different perspectives.
DPS Modern Indian School students attended a four-day ‘Creative Writing Workshop & Competition’ organized by Katara Cultural Village for schools all over Qatar and Angelina Thomas Purackal and Tasnia Binte Mustafiz won third prize and consolation prize respectively in the story writing competition.
The workshop was held over a period of four days in the month of December 2019 and more than 50 student representatives from different schools participated in it.
The session was an enriching experience for the students as they got an opportunity to explore various forms of poetry and effective methods of story writing. The resource persons, Professor Sam Meekings, Dr. Amy Christmas, Dr. Mohanalakshmi Rajakumar and Mr. Hussain Ahmed gave numerous tips on effective writing to enhance the skill of writing with hands- on experience.
DPS MIS students Angelina Thomas Purackal and Tasnia Binte Mustafiz won accolades in the story writing competition with the theme of Katara Backdrop where 54 participants from 21 schools enrolled and submitted their entries. The winners will get gift vouchers and all the entries of the short story competition will be published in a book titled ‘Imprints of Life’, which will be released soon.
Atmika Vishwanath, Angelina Thomas Purackal and Tasnia Binte Mustafiz and Drishti Tibrewal represented DPS Modern Indian School with Dr Deepika Vageesh Ranjan as Teacher-in-charge. The workshop proved to be a learning opportunity for the students redefining their perception toward poetry and short stories.
On 28th may 2020, Thursday, DPSMIS held a friendly online debate through the platform of zoom against Team UAE. It was an impromptu round which meant that the debaters got to know about the motion only half an hour before the debate. The motion on the floor was “This House Believes That Developing Countries Experiencing Critical Brain Should Impose Significant Restriction On Emigration.”
On team proposition there were Akshal Jain, Aadit Palica and Rohan Goda of Team UAE. On team opposition Arya Kanade, Nakshatra Gayan and Farhan Sakkir from Team DPS-MIS.
This fierce debate was judged by a panel from across the world Arthur Louis Heath from UK followed by Dominic Fwamba from Tanzania, Njuguna Macharia from Kenya, Jisha Oomen from UAE, Sandra Ramachandran from India, Aryan Adhlakha from USA and our very own Jaefar Shameem from DPSMIS, Qatar.
This great battle of words ended by a spilt decision favoring team DPS-MIS. The panel voted Nakshatra Gayan as the best speaker of the debate.
This unconventional yet modern platform of debate gave not only the debaters but also the observers a chance to enhance their knowledge of current scenarios around the world taking them a step closer to becoming future global citizens and world leaders.

This is to inform you that the transport service will be suspended from 1st October, 2020 due to less turn out of students for in school classes which is less than 5% of the total strength. For parents who have paid the transport fee kindly note the following:
Transport fee paid but services not utilized the amount will be adjusted with Term III fee (Tuition & Transport)
In respect of students who have paid the transport fee and partially utilized the service during Term II. School will review the same at the end of the term and adjust the balance if any against the Term III fee.
